Urban Concert for Haiti

Hinchley Wood School, 16 March 2010

With special guest: UK beatbox champion Faith SFX. Over 200 year 8 students from Hinchley Wood School performed a special concert in aid of the Haiti Earthquake Appeal.

The music was created by the students themselves through a series of live beat making, lyric writing, instrumental and vocal riff workshops with Squeaky Gate's rap artist Tor Cesay and composer Simon Gunton, and featuring beatboxing extraordinaire Faith SFX. The opportunity to work with an inspirational talent such as Faith SFX wass a rare and special one, and had a profound impact on students and teachers alike. Spontaneous and innovative, this remarkable work has been devised during eight intensive sessions. The performance was captured on CD, and the proceeds from CD sales go straight to the Haiti appeal.
