Community Workshop Leader Training

At Squeaky Gate we are committed to training Music Workshop Leaders. We have extensive experience to share; working with a wide range of people and in many different community settings. The Music Workshop Leader course offers potential leaders the necessary skills and experience to run successful and safe workshops. You will learn to plan and deliver individual learning objectives through a creative process; engage and inspire groups ensuring that each individual has the support they need. Our courses are accredited to Level 3 and are delivered in the classroom and in live workshop settings.

The Community Workshop Leader Training is offered at Level 3 Award (part time over 1 term) or Certificate (part time over 1 year)

PTLLS

(Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
This course will provide training so that participants can achieve the basic minimum standard required for all teachers, tutors and trainers in the lifelong learning sector. During the course you will develop an understanding of the role and responsibilities in relation to teaching and it will help you prepare for the teaching and learning cycle.

The award is offered at Level 3 with an option to extend to Level 4 for suitable candidates.
 
  • Understand own role, responsibilities and boundaries of role in relation to teaching
  • Understand appropriate teaching and learning approaches in the specialist area
  • Demonstrate session planning skills
  • Understand how to deliver inclusive sessions that motivate the learner
  • Understand the use of different assessment methods and the need for record keeping
